Windowpainting Patterns to Print and Paint - Tutorial

This Happy Snowmen Trio comes in 2 sizes for printing. One is 8-1/2”x11”. The other is scaled to fit 30.5” wide x 25” tall and uses 9 sheets of copy paper. Just line up each page in sequence and tape the pages together.

To print your pattern, open the file using Acrobat Reader. There is the option to “fit ” or “print actual size.” I prefer “fit” because it will print the light gray outline around each sheet and that helps a lot when lining the pages up.

Some printers also have a “poster print” setting which allows you to vary the size or your pattern. If you plan to use this setting you will want to use the smaller 8.5”x11” pattern.

 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS...

1. Tape the pattern to the glass window on the opposite side that you will be painting on. The printed side of the pattern should be toward the glass.

2. With a liner brush or paint pen marker, paint all the outlines with black. Allow the paint to dry before gong to step 3.

3. Fill in with color using the color photo for reference. Feel free to use your own color choices and add your own details.

For the Love of Window Painting

I have been painting windows for nearly 30 years. I was always fascinated by other window painters and jumped at the chance to paint business windows for friends and family.

As my painting skills grew, so did my business. It eventually became a year round business in our small town of Wenatchee in central Washington.

I recently retired from window painting and now I enjoy sharing what I’ve learned about this fun art form with anyone who asks.
